CABC Men's AAA Top 10 Rankings (August 14th, 2023)
8/14/2023by CABC Admin

We will now release our 5th Edition of the CABC Men's AAA Top 10 Rankings. The list is meant to have some fun and grow the sport of baseball at the Men's AAA level.

I have done as much scouring of webpages as I can to try and make the rankings as legit as possible. I have used regular season results and stats for all teams as not all teams take part in tournaments in their province. I have also started using playoff results since some teams are into their league playoffs now. The number at the end of each team in brackets is their ranking from last week if they were on the list. So with out further ado here we go...

Honorable Mentions

*Newmarket Hawks (12-8-1; Greater Toronto League) (NR)

-Had a 5-1 league record over the last two weeks; finalist at Ontario Men's AAA Elims (4-2 record)

*Red Deer Riggers (14-7; Sunburst League) (10)

-Went 1-2 in playoffs losing to Calgary Rockies in the semi-finals; Focus now to Canadians as the host team

*Chatham Ironmen (15-13; New Brunswick League) (NR)

*Cactus de Victoriaville (15-8); Ligue de Quebec) (HM)

-Went 3-3 in league play over the last two weeks; Sitting in 4th place in LBMQ

*Marysburg Royals (16-4; Saskatoon League) (HM)

-Went 2-1 to finish up reg. season; Went 3-1 in playoffs winning the Saskatoon League Championship

#10 - Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu (17-6; 2nd Place Ligue de Quebec) (HM)

The St Jean sur Richelieu Pirates re-enter the Top 10 after being an honorable mention a couple of weeks ago. St. Jean had a good two weeks of action in league play as they went 4-1 over that time frame. Their four wins came against, Sherbrooke, Drummondville, Montreal and the ABC U17 squad while their sole loss came against Drummondville. The Pirates find themselves sitting in 2nd place overall on the league but have Acton Vale, Montreal and Victoriaville close on their heels. They will be looking for a strong finish to their regular season as the playoffs are just around the corner.

The Islanders still continue to lead the New Brunswick loop but went 3-4 over the last couple of weeks in league play and saw their lead atop the standings shrink from 7.5 games down to 4.5 games now. The Isles are going to get tested coming down the stretch now as other teams seem to be picking it up with the playoffs just around the corner in NB after the break for the Canadians. Look for the Charlottetown club to try and get things moving in the right direction again as they try and gear up for a long playoff run.
