CABC Men's AAA Top 10 Rankings (June 1st, 2025)

We will now release our 2nd edition of the CABC Men's AAA Top 10 Rankings for the 2025 season. The list is meant to have some fun and grow the sport of baseball at the Men's AAA level. These rankings are based on regular season play up to and including games played on May 31st, 2025. Here we go for Round 2...

 

Honorable Mentions

*Big Bill de Coaticook (3-0 Record; 2nd Place Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (NR)

The Big Bill have come out of the gates hot in the Ligue du Quebec as they have won their first three outings of the season picking up two wins against Sherbrooke and another win over Drummondville.Time will tell if Coaticook can keep up this level of play as they enter the month of June. 

 

*Sarnia Brigade (2-1 Record; 2nd Place Southwestern League) (NR)

The Brigade have gotten off to a good start this season picking up wins over London West and Dorchester while dropping an 11-2 game to league rivals Ilderton.

 

*Calgary Rockies (4-3 Record; 4th Place Sunburst League) (10)

The Rockies drop out of the Top 10 but remain an honorable mention. After dropping their first two games to Red Deer and the Calgary Diamondbacks, they have won four of their last five games including wins over the Edmonton Cubs and Red Deer.  

 

*Windsor Stars (4-3 Record; 2nd Place Can Am League) (HM)

The Stars have had a good start to the year. Their four wins are against Tecumseh, Windsor Athletics and both the Windsor Select 22U and Tecumseh 22U teams. They have had some close games and are on the cusp of the Top 10.

 

*Etobicoke Rangers (3-1 Record; 2nd Place COBA Major League) (HM)

The Rangers are off and running again in the Central Ontario League. They have a pair of wins over Erindale and a win over the Oakville A's. Their only blip on the season so far is a loss to newcomers the Waterloo Tigers.

 

*Waterloo Tigers (4-1 Record; 1st Place COBA Major League) (NR)

Speaking of those Tigers, they sneak in as an honorable mention in these rankings. They are sitting in 1st place early in the season and have a pair of wins over qualiy teams in Brampton and Etobicoke. Their next few weeks will tell how long they are going to stick around in these rankings. 

 

*Jets de Montreal (3-1 Record; 4th Place Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (HM)

The Jets are off to a good start again as they are already in a tight race with Acton Vale and St Jean sur Richelieu. They have wins over Shawinigan, Laurentides and Granby. They sole loss is to league leading St Jean. 

 

 

National Top 10 Rankings

#10 -  Edmonton Cubs (3-1 Record; 1st Place Sunburst League) (HM)

The Cubbies go from an honorable mention to #10 in this weeks rankings as they currently hold a slight edge sitting a top the Sunburst League standings. For their results so far in the season, they have wins over Sherwood Park and St Albert while splitting a double dip against the Calgary Rockies. Offensively, Edmonton is being lead by Tony Olson (.357, 3 RBI), Ryan Kosolofski (.333, 5 RBI), Josh Croft (.308, 4 RBI) and Dave LeBlanc (.385, 3 RBI). On the mound, Jarvis Greiner (2-0, 3.23 ERA) and Taylor Thomas (1-0, 1.40 ERA) are leading the way for the Cubs. Brendan Wiun (0-1, 7.00 ERA) should also figure into the rotation as well too. 

 

#9 - Cartwright Twins (3-1 Record; 2nd Place Border League) (8)

The Twins are out of the gates in 2025 with another good start to their season. They currently have wins over Morden, Holland and Winkler with their sole loss coming to the team in Clearwater. Cartwright will get some good tests in June as they have some tough games against some of the top teams in the Border League loop. Being the defending league  champions, teams will be out to challenge the Twins this year. Offensively, the Twins are led by the Enns brothers Ty and Bryce as well as Von Mullin and Andrew Lochhead. On the mound, both Enns brothers will log some important innings there as well as Drew Haight who will be looked upon for some key innings as well. 

 

#8 - Ilderton Riverhawks (5-0 Record; 1st Place Southwestern League) (NR)

The Riverhawks are off to another very strong start this year as they have won their first five games. They have a pair of wins over the London Badgers as well as defeating the Sarnia Brigade, Dorechester Diamondbacks 22U and the Sarnia Brigade 22U. The Ilderton club as been on the cusp of grabbing a tournament win the last couple of seasons but alas this still eludes them. Offensively, the team is lead by Jordan Camara, Mitch Lumey, Will Pollard and Troy Lofgren. Pitching wise, the tandem of Jordan Townshend and Leo Labine is as good a 1-2 as anyone in the country. Josh Krautner and Lumley will also see some important innings this year.

 

#7 - Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu (4-0 Record; 1st Place Ligue be Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (HM)

The Pirates are one of two teams in the LBMQ that is currently undefeated as they sit in the top spot of the league right now. They have collected some impressive wins so far thias season including wins over Acton Vale and Montreal. After an early quarter-final departure from the playoffs last year, St Jean sur Richelieu has shown so far that they are back for redemption. Offensively, they are led by Sean Jackson (.428, 2 HR, 5 RBI), Jacob Bouchard (.428, 4 RBI), and the ageless Francois Lafreniere (.285, 2 HR, 4 RBI). On the mound, Lafreniere (2-0, 0.00 ERA), Jackson (1-0, 1 Sv, 1.31 ERA) and Jake Young (1-0, 1 Sv, 2.33 ER) have been the big arms thus far this season.

 

#6 - Tecumseh Thunder (6-2 Record; 1st Place Can Am League) (3)

The Thunder come into this edition of the Top 10 Rankings in the 6th spot. They. have had a good start to the win rattling off a few wins in a row now after a bit of a slow start to the year. They have three wins overe the Windsor Selects 22U, a pair of wins over the Tecumseh 22U club. They have split games with the Windsor Athletics while dropping their lone game against the Windsor Stars 3-2. Offensively, the Thunder are led by veteran Cam Goddard (.500, HR, 14 RBI), Dan Warkentin (.462, 5 RBI), Noah Ruttle (.387, 8 RBI) and Ross Barker (.333, HR, 7 RBI). On the mound, the tandem of Chris Horvath (2-0, 0.44 ERA) and Kyle Breitner (1-1, 4.81 ERA) will log the majority of inning this year while Taylor Pappin (3-0, 0.87 ERA) is off to a good start this year as well)

 

#5 - Newmarket Hawks (4-1 Record; 2nd Place Greater Toronto League) (7)

The Hawks look primed to defend their Ontario title from a year ago as they enter the 2025 season playing some great baseball. They currently sit in the 2nd place in the league which includes wins over Leaside, Thornhill and a pair of wins over East York. Their sole loss came at the hands of the Kendal Eagles. The Hawks will have a lot of teams gunning for them this season in Ontario but with their depth offensively and on the mound they are going to be a tough out. Offensively, Newmarket is led by Darcy Moore, Bryn Sanford, Troy McLoughlin and Alex Kok. On the mound, the Hawks are lead by Christian Mullen as well as Riley Hoover, Carson Hepburn and Andrew Raponi. 

 

#4 - Charlottetown Islanders (3-1 Record; 1st Place New Brunswick League) (6)

The Islanders seem to be picking up where they left off last year when they won their 2nd straight NB Provincial Championship in six games over the Moncton Mets. They have come out of the gates strong in 2025 showing a lot of depth both at the plate and on the mound too. So far this season. Charlottetown has a pair of win over the Chatham Ironmen at home and have split a pair of games with Moncton winning at Kiwanis Park before dropping a 2-0 pitchers duel at home. Offensively, the Isles are led by Cole MacLaren (.500, 3 RBI), Josh Myers (.381, HR, 2 RBI), and Ryne MacIsaac (.300, 2 RBI). On the mound, Jordan Stevenson (2-0, 3.18 ERA) leads a strong pitching staff with Tanner MacLean (1-0, 0.00 ERA) and Brody MacDonald (0-1, 3.82 ERA) also set to get some key innings this year as well. 

 

#3 - Castors d'Acton Vale (4-1 Record; 2nd Place Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (5)

The Castors are looking like a team that has something to prove this year. After winning the LBMQ Championship in 2023 and dropping a tough final to the Cactus de Victoriaville in six games last year, they look poised to try and get back to the finals again this season. Their only loss this season was 8-0 against St Jean sur Richelieu. They have wins against the Laurentides, Drummondville and a pair of wins against Granby. Offensively, they are led by Jean-Francois Delisle (.500, 7 RBI), Deric Lamontagne (.400, HR, 4 RBI), Emmanuel Forcier (.375, HR, 7 RBI) and Johan Ochoa (.333, HR, 3 RBI). Pitching wise Marcos Encarnacion (2-0, 0.00 ERA) and David Gauthier (2-0, 0.00 ERA) are off to a great start this year with some help from Felix Cote (0-0, 1 Sv, 1.40 ERA) and Gabriel Chiasson (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

 

#2 - Dartmouth Dry (3-0 Record; 1st Place Nova Scotia League) (4)

The Dartmouth clubs climbs a couple of spots in this edition of the Top 10 as they look to build off of a very strong 2024 campaign which saw them go 24-4 in league play and nearly went perfect through the playoffs capturing the NSSBL Championship and earn a trip to the Canadian Championships this year. So far they have collected a win over Kentville as well as a pair of wins over the newly branded Halifax Mets. Offensively, the Dry are lead by 2024 League MVP Anthony McKinley as well as Chris Thibideau, Noah Trider and Jack Fader. On the bump, McKinley will help lead the way again along with Ryan Nason, Hunter Canning and Sean Hubley. 

 

#1 - Regina Trappers (2-0 Record; 1st Place Qu'Appelle Valley League) (2)

The Regina Trappers claim the #1 spot this time around in our Top 10 rankings. The Trappers are ramping up for a big season as they prepare to host the country in August at the Canadian Men's Championships. After a pair of narrow losses in the final, they will look to get the job done at home. So far this season, they have a pair of wins over the Regina Dodgers and last year's league finalists the Regina Rockies. Roster wise, the Traps return a large core of guys from last year. Offensively, they are led by Jordan Dezotell (.667, HR, 2 RBI), Griffin Keller (.500, 3 RBI) and Kendal Keller (.429, 2 RBI). On the hill, Chris Untereiner (1-0, 1.40 ERA) and Clark Munroe (1-0, 5.60 ERA) both have a win this year. Dakota Fedak (0-0, 0.00 ERA) should figure into the rotation as well too this summer as a key contributor. 

 

 

Congrats to all of the teams that made the list this time around. After a few weeks, we will release our 3rd edition of the rankings for the 2025 season. By this point, we should be well into all of the seasons across the country and have a better idea of who is on all of the rosters as well. Looking forward to another awesome season of Men's AAA Baseball in Canada.
