Boissevain Centennials Capture Manitoba Provincial Championship

The Boissevain Centennials of the South West Baseball League have won the 2025 Manitoba Men's AA Provincial Title with a narrow 8-7 win over the Cartwright Twins of the Border Baseball League. This is the 2nd major tournament title for the Centennials this summer as they just won the South West Baseball League Playoff title as well last week. 

 

In round robin play, Boissevain had a record of 2 - 1. On Friday night, the Centennials. dropped their opening game 4 - 1 to the Morden Mud Hens of the Border Baseball League. On Saturday, Boissevain won a pair of games as they defeated the Brandon Young Guns of the South West Baseball League 7 - 6 as well as defeating the defending champion West Winnipeg A's of the Winnipeg Senior Baseball League 4 - 1. 

 

With a record of 2 - 1, the Centennials grabbed top spot in their division and a date with the host club the Elmwood Giants of the Winnipeg Senior Baseball League in the tournament semi-finals. In a complete team effort, Boissevain won this game by a score of 6 - 1 and advanced to the championship game against the Cartwright Twins. In this game, two veteran hurlers toed the mound as Scott Beever outdueled Anthony Friesen as the Cents took down the 2025 Provincial Championship.

 

A big congratulations to the whole Boissevain Centennials team on a very successful 2025 season on the field. A big congrats to the Cartwright Twins as well on a very successful run at this year's event as they reach the provincial final for the 3rd time in four years. Tip of the cap to the Elmwood Giants and their host committee on running a great event this year as well.
