We will now release our 5th edition of the CABC Men's AAA Top 10 Rankings for the 2025 season. The list is meant to have some fun and grow the sport of baseball at the Men's AAA level. These rankings are based on regular season play up to and including games played on August 10th, 2025. Here we go for Round 5...

 

Honorable Mentions

*Cartwright Twins (12 - 2 Record; 1st Place Border Baseball League) (HM)

The Cartwright Twins grab an honorable mention in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings. The Twins have had a good season to date as they are currently playing in the Border League Championship Final against the Morden Mud Hens. They also finished in 2nd place at the Manitoba Provinical Championships this past weekend in Elmwood. Cartwright has one more big tournament this year as they make their way to Alberta for the Western Canadians Championships in Westlock. 

 

*Oak River Dodgers (13 - 2 Record; 1st Place South West Baseball League) (9)

The Oak River Dodgers drop out of the Top 10 and are an honorable mention in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings. The Dodgers had a great season this year as they finished tops in the regular season standings. They won the first two rounds of their playoffs against Hamiota & Rivers before dropping the Best of 5 final to Boissevain 3 - 1. They also attended the Manitoba Provincial Tournament this past weekend going 1 - 2 and missing the playoff round. 

 

*Tecumseh Thunder (15 - 7 Record; 1st Place Can Am Baseball League (8)

The Tecumseh Thunder take a small drop into an honorable mention in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings. The Thunder wrapped up their regular season with two wins and a Can Am League Title. The club attended the Ontario National Qualifying Tournament and went 2 - 2 this year bowing out on Saturday night after a tough 7 - 6 loss to Ajax. The Thunder are currently in their league playoffs which conclude with the championship game vs the Windsor Stars on August 11th

 

*Kendal Eagles (15 - 2 - 1 Record; 1st Place Greater Toronto Baseball League) (10)

The Kendal Eagles take a small step back as they come into this edition of the Top 10 Rankings as an honorable mention. The Eagles have been on fire in league play and the last few weeks was no different going 3 - 0. They went 2 - 1 at the Hap Walters Invitational Tournament missing out on the playoff round. They also went 1 - 2 at the Ontario National Qualifying Tournament bowing out on Saturday after some very tight games including a loss to the 2nd place Etobicoke Rangers. 

 

*Kentville Wildcats (15 - 7 Record; 2nd Place Nova Scotia Baseball League) (NR)

The Kentville Wildcats make their first appearance of the 2025 season in the Top 10 Rankings as they grab an honorbale mention this time around. After a bit of a slow start to the season, the Wildcats have caught fire over the past few weeks of league play as they have gone 8 - 2 in that time span including a pair of wins over the league leading Dartmouth Dry. The WIidcats will be looking to get back to the Nova Scotia league final in a few weeks as they look for a league championship. 

 

*Chatham Ironmen (18 - 10 Record; 2nd Place New Brunswick Baseball League) (NR)

The Chatham Ironmen also make their first appearance in 2025 in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings as they grab an honorable mention this time around. The Ironmen made a huge surge up the league standings as they went 9 - 3 over the last few weeks to close out their regular season at 18 - 10. Chatham will now have a bit of a break till after the Canadian Men's Tournament when they will gear up for a playoff run and a shot at an New Brunswick Provincial Title. 

 

*Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu (19 - 9 Record; 3rd Place Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (NR)

The Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu make their way back into the Top 10 Rankings this time around with an honorable mention in this edition. The Pirates have had an very strong run over the last few weeks as they have gone 10 - 3 over a very busy stretch of play in the LBMQ. The club has been hanging around with Acton Vale and Victoriaville all season in the upper part of the league standings. The question now is...can they get it done and make a deep run into the playoffs. 

 

National Top 10 Rankings

#10 - Sarnia Brigade (8 - 2 Record; 2nd Southwestern Baseball League) (4)

The Sarnia Briagde take a bit of a dip this week in the Top 10 Rankings as they drop a few spots and come in this time at #10. The Brigade have had a pretty good summer as they won the CABC Gold Bat Tournament in Sarnia going 5 - 0 and finished 2nd at the Rudy Godwin Memorial Tournament in London going 4 - 1. They had a decent run through the Ontario National Qualifying Tournament but came up just short finishing in the Top 5 teams with a record of 3 - 2. It remains to be seen whether the Southwestern League will have playoffs or not so I am not sure if they will have games left or not.

#9 -  Castors d'Acton Vale (20-9 Record; 2nd Place Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (7)

The Castors d'Acton Vale take a little bit of a slide as they come into this edition of the Top 10 Rankings at #9. The Castors are having another very good season as they currently sit atop of the Louisville Slugger Division in the LBMQ. Over the last few weeks of league play, Acton Vale has been running hot as they have gone 7 - 3 during that time frame. The Castors have reached the LBMQ Championship final the last two years winning it all in 2023. They look poised to do the same thing again this season as a solid core of veterans to lead this team back to the finals.

#8 - Newmarket Hawks (15 - 4 - 1 Record; 2nd Place Greater Toronto Baseball League) (3)

The Newmarket Hawks slide a few spots in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings as they come in at #8 this time around. The Newmarket club continues to have a very strong season in league play as they sit just behind the Kendal Eagles. Over the course of the last few weeks, the Hawks were only 2 - 2 - 1 in league play but attended the Hap Walters Invitational Tournament going 2 - 1 and narrowly missed the playoff round. They also attended this year's Ontario National Qualifying Tournament as the defending champions and went 2 - 2 in this year's event losing to the Windsor Stars 8 - 2 Saturday night.

#7 - Etobicoke Rangers (17 - 5 Record; 1st Place COBA Major Baseball League) (HM)

The Etobicoke Rangers make a big jump in the Top 10 Rankings as they come in at #7 in this week's edition. The Rangers have been having a solid season in the COBA Major Baseball League as they currently sit in top spot again this season. Over the course of the last few weeks, they had a quiet run in league play only going 1 - 1. They were busy in tournament play attending the Hap Walters Invitational Tournament going 4 - 1 there to claim 2nd place overall. They also attended the Ontario National Qualifying Tournament going 6 - 2 and claiming 2nd place there and a trip to the Canadian Championships.

#6 - Cactus de Victoriaville (20 - 8 Record; 1st Place Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec) (HM)

After a bit of a hiatus from the rankings, the Cactus de Victoriaville have made some huge strides over the past few weeks and come into this edition of the Top 10 Rankings at #6. The Cactus have, simply put, been on fire over the last few weeks of LBMQ regular season play as they went 9 - 2 over that time to claim the #1 spot in the league standings. After a bit of a slow start to the year, everything seems to be clikcing for the Victoriaville club. They have a handful of regular season games left before they gear up for a playoff run as they try and defend their 2024 LBMQ Playoff Championship.

#5 - Leaside Leafs (9 - 11 Record; 3rd Place Greater Toronto Baseball League) (NR)

The Leaside Leafs make their first appearance ever on our Top 10 Rankings as they enter this edition as the #5 team in the country. The Leafs have had a little bit of an up and down season in GTBL regular season play as the club just recently slipped under the .500 mark. They attended the Hap Walters Tournament going 2 - 1 in pool play narrowly missing the playoffs. At the Ontario National Qualifying Tournament, Leaside went on a huge run going 6 - 1 including marquee wins over Newmarket, Sarnia and Etobicoke to grab the Ontario title and a trip to the Canadian Men's Championships in Regina.

#4 - Charlottetown Islanders (17 - 9 Record; 1st Place Greater Toronto League) (6)

The Charlottetown Islanders continued their solid run this season climbing two spots in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings into the #4 spot. After hitting a little bit of a lull in the middle of the season, the Islanders finished up the regular season strong as they went 9 - 3 over that time span. With their last two wins over Chatham, they clinched the regular season pennant for the 3rd year in a row. Charlottetown will take a break from NB League play now as they set their sights on the Canadian Men's Baseball Championships coming up next week in Regina, Saskatchewan.

#3 - Boissevain Centennials (12 - 2 Record; 2nd Place South West Baseball League) (5)

The Boissevain Centennials have continued their stellar play this summer as they climb two spots in this edition of the Top 10 Rankings to sit at #3. The Centennials had another great regular season this year and rode that momentum into the playoffs as they defeated Wawanesa in the opneing round followed by the Brandon Cardinals in the league semi-finals. They defeated the Oak River Dodgers 3 - 1 in the Best of 5 League Finals. The follwoing week, Boissevain attended the Manitoba Provincial Tournament and took down that title going 4 - 1 defeating the Cartwright Twins 8 - 7 in the championship final.

#2 - Regina Trappers (10 - 2 Record; 1st Place Qu'Appelle Valley Baseball League) (1)

For the first time this season, the Regina Trappers relinquish the top spot in the country as they drop one spot to #2 in the Top 10 Rankings. The Trappers had another great regular season as they finished atop their league standings again this season.  They had the Saskatchewan Provincial Tournament in Saskatoon a couple of weeks ago and had a tough weekend going 0 - 2 the tournament and missing out on the playoff round and the chnace to defend their 2024 title. Regina just advanced to the QVBL League Finals as they prepare for the 2025 Canadian Mens Baseball Championships next week.

#1 - Dartmouth Dry (17 - 4 Record; 1st Place Nova Scotia Baseball League) (2)

For the first time this season, the Dartmouth Dry have finally made the jump into the #1 spot of our CABC National Top 10 Rankings. The Dry have continued their solid play into the month of August as they reamin atop the Nova Scotia Legaue standings. Over the course of the last few weeks, Dartmouth has gone 7 - 3 in that time frame but have received some very strong efforts from the other teams in the loop including Kentville and Sydney who are right on their tails. The Dry have a handful of league games to play before the league pauses for them to go to the Canadian Mens Championships in Regina.
