Team New Brunswick will leave Regina with a medal in 2025 after an exciting 4 - 0 win over the host Regina Trappers in front of a great crowd at Currie Field in semi-final #2 at the Canadian Men's Baseball Championships.
This game featured a pitching duel between Regina right hander Kody Rock and Team NB left hander Haden Dow. This game remained scoreless until Charlottetown broke the scoreless tie as they plated two runs that inning to claim a 2 - 0 lead. They would add two more runs in the 7th inning off reliver Dan Morari to claim this semi-final by a score of 4 - 0
Haden Dow, a pick-up from the Saint John Alpines, was magnificent on the mound for the Islanders. he threw a complete game shutout allowing only three hits walking none and striking out four on just 78 pitches (58 for strikes). Kody Rock was the hard luck loser for the Regina club as he went 5 1/3 innings two runs (both earned) on seven hits. He walked one batter and struck out four. Dan Morari threw the final 1 2/3 innings allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit while walking one and striking out one.
At the plate, Team NB was led by Josh Myers was 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI. Ryne MacIsaac was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and an RBI while Justin Cormier and Jack Kraft each had a hit and an RBI to round out the offense. Chris Untereiner, Cole Bauml and Kendell Keller each had a hit for the Regina Trappers.
Team New Brunswick will now adavnce to the Gold Medal game and take on Team Quebec tonight here at Currie Field at 7:00pm. Regina will now play for bronze against Team Saskatchewan at 4:00pm also at Currie Field. Both games will be carried live by IKS Media with Peter Loubardias and Dan Estey on the call.
