We will now release our 2nd edition of the CABC Men's AAA Top 10 Rankings for the 2026 season. The list is meant to have some fun and grow the sport of baseball at the Men's AAA level. Now that we are a month into the season, it has allowed teams (for the most part) to get their seasons off and going. As mentioned last time, without having a huge knowledge of a lot of rosters for this season, there was going to be a lot of movement this time around (and their was ...lol)
So without delaying any longer, here is the most recent Top 10 Rankings in the country as of May 31st, 2026
#Honorable Mentions
*Castors d'Acton Vale (4 - 3 Record; 4th place Ligue du Quebec) (2)
The Castors d'Acton Vale take a bit of a dip down the the rankings this timne around as they find themselves as an honorable mention. The Castors had a bit of a rough start to the season dropping three of their first four games. They have rattled off three wins in a row but the reigning Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec champions are going to have to show a little more consistency in order to work their way back into the National Top 10 portion of the rankings.
*Chatham Ironmen (3 - 2 Record; 2nd Place NB League) (HM)
The Chatham Ironmen started off the season as an honorable mention and they reamin as the same in this installment of the National Top 10 Rankings. Like the Castors, the Ironmen had a bit of a slow start to the season as they dropped their first two games before rallying back to take their next three games in a row. With Chatham hosting the Canadians later this summer in August, there is some work being done at Ironmen Park which has kept the club on the road so far. They will be looking forward to playing their home opener on June 14th.
*East York Bulldogs (4 - 1 - 1 Record; 1st Place Greater Toronto League) (NR)
After a bit of a hiatus from these ranking the last few years, the East York Bulldogs start off this season as an honorable mention in the first in season edition of the National Top 10 Rankings. The Bulldogs started off the year undefeated in their first four games collecting three wins and a tie. This past weekend, they split a doubleheader with the Kendal Eagles and currently sit atop the Greater Toronto League standings. With some strong additions in the off season and a few veterans having a good start to their season, it will be interesting to see how East York does this season.
*Cartwright Twins (3 - 0 Record; 1st Place Border League) (HM)
The Cartwright Twins came into our preseason National Top 10 Rankings as an honorbale mention and they remain there in this edition of the rankings as well. The Carwright crew is off to a good start this season as they have won all three of their outings so far. After a pair of 2nd place finishes in the Border League & Manitoba Provicials last year followed by a Western Canadian title, we are interested to see how they will fair against some of the top teams in the loop when those matchups come around.
*Burlington Brants (5 - 2 Record; 3rd Place COBA Major League) (NR)
The Burlington Brants find thmeselves in our first in-season edition of the National Top 10 Rankings starting the season as an honorable mention. The Brants have gotten out of the gates hot in the COBA Major Baseball League. After dropping their season opener in Milton, the Burlington club rattled off five straight wins before dropping a 7-0 deicison to the league leading Waterloo Tigers. The club has one of the stronger pitching staffs in the province and have been hitting the ball well to start the year. If their bats show up during tournament games they will be a dangerous team that could climb these rankings.
*Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu (4 - 2 Record; 3rd Place Ligue du Quebec) (HM)
The Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu came into our pre-season Top 10 Rankings as an honorable mention and they remain there for the first in-season installment of the rankings. The Pirates got off to a red hot start this season is they won their first four games of the season. They have dropped their last two contests against Montreal and Acton Vale respectively. The very veteran laiden Pirates will be looking to get back to their winning ways in June and hopefully try and crack into the National Top 10 portion of the rankings.
*Kentville Wildcats (1 - 1 Record; T - 2nd Place Nova Scotia League) (5)
The Kentville Wildcats take a small dip in this edition of the National Top 10 Rankings as they find themselves as an honorable mention this time around. The defending NSSBL champions have only played a pair of games to date shutting out the Metro Brewers followed by a lopsided 12 - 2 loss to the Halifax Mets. The pace is going to pick up real quick for the Wildcats though as they have an extremely busy June in league play. If they are able to catch fire with their bats again and the arms keep producing, they can very easily find themselves back in the mix for the Top 10.
National Top 10 Rankings
#10 - Jets de Montreal (6 - 2 Record; 2nd Place Ligue du Quebec) (NR)
The Jets de Montreal commence the season as the #10 team in this installment of the National Top 10 Rankings. The Montreal club has gotten off to a good start as their record currently has them towards the top of the LBMQ standings. They got off to a hot start on the season winning three of their first four contests. They would go 3 - 1 over their next four games as well putting them percentage points ahead of the Pirates de St Jean sur Richelieu. With a tough June schedule coming up, we'll see how the club does with a number of games against some of the top clubs in the loop.
#9 - Oak River Dodgers (4 - 0 Record; 1st Place South West League) (NR)
The Oak River Dodgers find themselves in the #9 spot in this edition of the National Top 10 Rankings. The Dodgers have been perfect thus far this season as their 4 - 0 record currently has themn sitting atop of the pack in the very comeptitive South West Baseball League along with Boissevain who is also undefeated. Oak River had a strong run last season as they dropped the league final to the Centennials and looked poised for another strong run this season as they look to try and get back to the league finals as well as a better showing at the Manitoba Provincial tournament.
#8 - Waterloo Tigers (6 - 2 - 1 Record; 1st Place COBA Major League) (NR)
Just into their 2nd year of Men's AAA Baseball here in Ontario, the Waterloo Tigers find themselves into the National Top 10 Rankings as the #8 team in the country. Not know what to expect last year, the Tigers had a good season in the COBA Major Baseball League making it to the semi-finals of the playoffs before bowing out to the MIlton Red Sox. They also had an impressvie run at the Ontario National Qualifying Tournament making it into the Top 5 teams. Waterloo has made some key additions as well as having a lot of returnees and will be looking for a shot at a provincial title this summer.
#7 - Windsor Stars (4 - 1 Record; 1st Place Can Am League) (HM)
The Windsor Stars started off the year as an honorable mention in our pre-season rankings and now find themselves as the #7 team in the country this time around. The Stars are off to a good start in the Can Am Baseball League as they currently sit at the top of the standings. Last season, Windsor dropped the league final to cross town rivals the Tecumseh Thunder and was within a game of getting back to the Canadian Championships dropping a tight 3 - 1 game to Etobicoke. With a full roster of returnees and some new additions, the Stars seem poised for another good run this season here in Ontario.
#6 - Dartmouth Dry (1 - 0 Record; 1st Place Nova Scotia League) (6)
The Dartmouth Dry retain their spot as the #6 team in the country in this edition of the National Top 10 Rankings. The Dry have had a little bit of back luck with their schedule as they. have only managed to play one game so far defeating the Halifax Mets by a score of 14 - 8. As with the rest of the teams in the loop, games are going to come fast and furious in the month of June which will be a good lithmus test for the veteran laiden club. After being outsted in the league semi-finals last year, Dartmouth will be looking to get back to the top of the mountain this summer in Nova Scotia.
#5 - Big Bill de Coaticook (5 - 1 Record; Ligue du Quebec) (NR)
The Big Bill de Coaticook are the new kids on the block for the National Top 10 Rankings and currently find themselves in the #5 spot in the country. The Big Bill have had an impressive start to the season as they currently sit atop the league standings in the Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec. Coaticook has been getting a greta mix of good pitching and tinely hitting as their sole loss on the year has come at the hands of the #10 Jets de Montreal by a score of 18 - 11. The Big Bill have gotten off to good starts in past seasons, we'll see if they can keep the momentum going in the right direction.
#4 - Etobicoke Rangers (5 - 1 Record; 2nd Place COBA Major League) (8)
After beginning the year in the #8 spot, the Etobicoke Rangers jump a few spots this time around and find themselves at #4 in this ediiton of the National Top 10 Rankings. The Rangers have had a hot start to their 2026 campaign as they are in 2nd place by percentage points in the overall COBA Major League standings. In 2025, they had another great season which culminated with an 2nd place finish at the Ontario National Qualifier and a trip to the Canadian Championship. The team is down a few pieces from that team last year but still seem poised to challenge for another shot at the title thsim summer.
#3 - Regina Trappers (2 - 0 Record; Prairie Men's League) (3)
The Regina Trappers started the year as the #3 team in the country and will retain that spot in this installment of the National Top 10 Rankings. The Trappers are playing in the newly minted Prairie Men's Baseball League (former D1 QVBL) and have gotten off to a good start so far. Regina dropped a one game final to the Regina Rockies last season in the league playoffs while at the Canadians as the host, the dropped a tough semi-final to Chalottetown before finishing 4th overall. The Traps will be looking for some revenge this season both in league play and at the Canadians in August.
#2 - Boissevain Centennials (3 - 0 Record; 2nd Place South West League) (4)
The Boissevain Centennials have had another strong start to their season this season and have jumped two spots to the #2 team in our National Top 10 Rankings. The Centennials are off to a perfect start in the South West Baseball League in Manitoba and are one of two undefeated teams to this point in the season along with Oak River. They had a successful 2025 as the won both the South West League title and the Manitoba Provincial title. They look to be on track to have another strong season this year as they look to defend both titles later in the summer.
#1 - Charlottetown Islanders (5 - 0 Record; 1st Place New Brunswick League) (1)
Our pre-season #1 on team in the country has retained that spot as the Charlottetown Islanders remain in the #1 spot in our National Top 10 Rankings. The Isles have some big shoes to fill from last season as they won both the New Brunswick Sr League title for the 3rd year in a row and also won a national championship in August defeating Team Quebec in the final in Regina. Charlottetown seems to have picked up right where they left on and with the same roster back this season and add in a few players that were injured, the Isles should be in a really good spot to be successful again this summer.
Congrats to all of the teams that made the list this time around. After a few weeks, we will release our 3rd edition of the rankings for the 2026 season. By this point, we will have an idea of what rosters are looking like for this season and we will also start to include some key players & pitchers from each team. Wishing the best to all of the teams in their upcoming seasons this year. Looking forward to another awesome season of Men's AAA Baseball in Canada.
